Volunteers Needed for Fall Garden Clean Up

By | Activities | No Comments

garden-2016We’ve been so blessed to enjoy a beautiful school garden all summer! Maybe you even had the pleasure of eating some tomatoes or peppers with one of your meals. As the season changes, we need to start getting ready for winter and planning for the next garden season. We have several jobs that need to be done before winter sets in. We need volunteers to: repot flowers/herbs; harvest sweet potatoes; clean out annual plants; fertilize; clean up Dahlias; and begin construction on the butterfly garden.

Clean up days are Saturday October 15th, Sunday October 16th, October 22nd and Sunday October 23rd from 10am to 2pm. Students 5th grade and up can volunteer without an adult, younger students will need an adult with them. This is a great opportunity for service hours. Adults interested in volunteering with their kids need to have Protecting God’s Children and a background check in place. Please bring any empty pots you would like to donate for use for replanting to the Garden or any other garden items you may want to donate. We look forward to seeing you there!
Thank you to Lowe’s in Dublin for their generous donations and sponsorship!

Dr. Sax Presentation and Handout

Thanks to the over 350 St. Brigid community parents who attended the Dr. Sax presentation on September 15.

We have great hope that our children will benefit greatly – the stronger our parents and community become, the greater hope for our children.

HANDOUT
Dr. Sax shared a handout with notes from his presentation that is available for our community. You can find that handout at this link.

VIDEO
Thank you to Jim Anderson for recording the entire presentation. If you missed it or want a refresher on something he said, you can find it at this link.
